I have some exciting news to share with you this week!

Dr Beniko Mason, who has just published groundbreaking research on language acquisition, has had the biggest impact on my way of teaching French. It is thanks to her Story Listening method that I came to build our site and provide you with comprehensible French stories.

Her recent research shows that just 70 hours of comprehensible input can yield results comparable to 286 hours of conventional language instruction.

You achieve significant progress more efficiently by simply listening and reading, rather than spending countless hours memorizing grammar rules and word lists.

The study highlights that learners exposed to comprehensible input for 70 hours showed similar levels of proficiency to those who underwent 286 hours of traditional classroom instruction.

It simply means you can acquire French by focusing on meaningful and contextualized language exposure, making the acquisition process not only faster but also more enjoyable. (Read more about this fascinating research here)
