Coucou les French learners,
Today is Lundi de Pentecôte. It is part of the Catholic tradition held 50 days after Easter to celebrate the descent of the Holy Spirit on the Apostles (disciples of Jesus Christ).
While it is a religious celebration following Easter, Lundi de Pentecôte has also got controversial connotations in France. The French Government has indeed used this public holiday to create a new Solidarity Day, Journée de Solidarité for which people would work without being payed. This special day would be a way of raising extra money in support of disabled and old people. Even though some French people were attracted by the idea of Solidarity, many others – especially labour unions – protested and took the day off anyway to perpetuate the tradition.
Lundi de Pentecôte was eventually reinstated as a national bank holiday in 2008, and the French Ministry of Labour allowed employers to set the so-called Solidarity Day at any moment of the year.

QUOI DE NEUF ?
There is still a lot happening! We have changed the homepage on my site and last week, we published a new video in English to explain the process of becoming fluent in French.
It is SIMPLE: ENJOY a GOOD STORY in French.
When you understand the story, you acquire French. Let you brain do the work. Sit back, relax and enjoy!
Let’s imagine a story together!
We are meeting on Saturday May, 29 to co-create a story! The objective is to publish a great story for the community!
We will spend the first 30 minutes co-creating a character and plot together. We will then write and discuss. This will get the story in written form, and through the process we will read the story again and maybe even embellish it!
JOIN US for our first story together! How exciting!

NEW podcast: La pause café
The new series, La pause café is still running. And it is now available as a podcast to listen on the go!
In this series, I interview special guests about language acquisition, moving to another country, being a language teacher and learner and other fascinating topics. This series is perfect for intermediate learners. You get to listen to a natural and interesting conversation in French! You also get to hear different accents as my guests come from different countries and are not necessarily French native. I hope they motivate and inspire you to keep up!
Today we published the 14th session of the Infant Stage. The goal is to reach 31 sessions just like the Baby Stage. That way it will take you 2 months to reach an upper beginner level in French.
The Infant Stage is for advanced beginners who have completed the Baby Stage. This stage continues to make you acquire the most common structures as well as how to tell the time or how to talk about the weather. Each session includes A STORY to help you become fluent in French joyfully without having all the pain to learn grammar rules nor word lists.
STORIES make you ABSORB the French language the JOYFUL way!

Summer INTENSIVE course
Do you want to boost your French?
Join me live for a daily experience for 2 weeks (10 sessions) Monday to Friday from June, 21 to July, 2.
The Advanced Beginner Course is designed to gain a solid French comprehension. We will start each session by reading a chapter from my new book (it is not yet released!) about Marie & Médor. You will travel virtually to Paris and get insights from myself, a Parisian! At the end of the course, you will have this great sense of achievement of having read a book in French!
If you feel, you have reached the “intermediate plateau” and you want to move on, the Intermediate Course is for you. We will start each session by reading a compelling text, then we will discuss and debate. This will boost your confidence in talking in French! The goal is to develop fluency as well as the ability to process the language spontaneously.
Each session is unique. You can miss one and you’ll be able to join the next one without feeling lost. All sessions will be recorded and posted online.
