Two weeks ago, We spent a magical week in Pau, in the South-West of France. It was exactly what my sister and I had wished for: an authentic experience!

Our small group of 11 French learners were immersed in the French language and culture. Those 5 days together provided a safe and relaxed environment to confidently interact in French. And I know everyone returned home with a deeper understanding of the French way of life and a renewed passion for the language.

It was remarkable to see how this group of dedicated French learners understood more and more French as the week went by. Everyone started to speak French naturally and spontaneously by the end of the week!

During our 5 days together, I was able to provide personalized feedback tailored to everyone’s specific strengths and weaknesses. Our focus was on developing spontaneous speaking. With one-on-one attention, everyone could progress at his/her own pace leading to faster improvement.

During our sessions, learners got more interaction time in a supportive environment. They had a safe and encouraging space to make mistakes and learn from them, ultimately reducing speaking anxiety.

Au musée des Beaux-Arts de Pau, we could discuss beautiful paintings all in French!

This week also gave countless opportunities for cultural insights and context, which are essential for understanding the nuances of the language and using it appropriately in different social and cultural settings.
